To our customers currently serviced by Toronto Police Service:
As of January 1st, 2016, Toronto Police Service will have an amended Alarm Response program for monitored security alarm systems. This program affects how your home or business security alarm system will be monitored and how police dispatches will be handled when alarms are received in our SRC. The amended Alarm Response Program requires verification of alarms in order to receive a higher priority response than alarms which are not verified prior to police dispatch. This is similar to programs implemented in other municipalities in the last few years.
Toronto Police Services considers verification to include:
- Audio device;
- Video device;
- Multiple zone activations; or
- An eyewitness (i.e. private security or person at scene);
- Key holder notification.
Details of the amendment can be view on TPS’s website here:
FMC can offer a wide range of services for business security alarm systems to aid in the verification process including CCTV systems, video verification, and interactive security alarm monitoring services through our partnership with Alarm.com
