NENA – National Emergency Number Association
NENA is an association of public-safety personnel with interests in the technical aspects of the operation of 9-1-1 dispatch centres. Issues addressed by NENA both nationally and locally include all areas of communication centre technology. Computer Aided Dispatch systems are the centre of an emergency dispatch centre but they are only as effective as the information being fed into the system. GIS, telephony, radio, VoIP, cellular and WiFi data are but a few of the issues addressed by this association.
