Certainly, it is best to look for properly trained and qualified technicians and dispatchers as this will improve your confidence in the company you have chosen, and can help mitigate false alarms. ULC – FMC is listed as a full service installation and monitoring company by Underwriters’ Laboratories of Canada, and is able to issue CAN/ULC-S561 certificates for fire alarm and sprinkler systems. You can view our ULC listing here by clicking here.
CSAA Five Diamond Certification – FMC is a Five Diamond Certified Monitoring company through the Central Station Alarm Association. This means that all of FMC’s dispatchers have been provided training through the CSAA on the best practices as it relates to alarm handling and false alarm reduction.
CFAA – Each one of FMC’s technicians maintain a valid Canadian Fire Alarm Association certification. This certification is required for any person to work on a fire alarm system. Any company (including those providing fire alarm monitoring) which provides fire alarm monitoring should provide CFAA technicians, otherwise you will require your fire alarm service company to attend to attend to verify the work completed in the fire alarm panel.
ATC – The Canadian Security Association (CANASA) provides alarm technician training which focusses on the proper installation of security systems and best practices to mitigate the possibility of false alarms.
Each of these certifications will help improve the level of service we provide to our customers, and you should ensure that any provider you choose has then ability to serve you and provide a level of service that will ensure a properly operating systems for years to come with minimal servicing and proper alarm handling.
