In this series, FMC will outline false alarm by-laws for alarm response in cities in areas that FMC provides service and monitoring. We will present information if you have a security alarm system with security alarm monitoring, or if you have a fire alarm or sprinkler system monitored. Today we will look at Alarm Response Policies in the City of Hamilton.

Fire Alarm Response Policy for Hamilton Fire Services:
For false fire alarm dispatches which are as a result of a failure to notify the fire department or the alarm monitoring company (FMC) for any work on site or testing of the fire alarm system, a fee of $500.00 shall be levied.
Where the Fire Department responds to 4 or more false alarms in the same building in a 30 day period, a fee of $350.00 will be applied to each response.
Where the Fire Department responds to 6 or more false alarms in the same building in one calendar year, a fee of $350.00 will be applied to each response.
